Therapy helps you process the “stuff” in your life that is causing you distress. In order to do that, there has to be a good fit between the therapist and you. We offer a free 30 minute session so you can see how it might be to work with a particular therapist. Then you can get on with the business of identifying what is working in your life and what patterns might be getting in the way of your happiness. By doing this inner work, you’ll learn healthier ways to respond to life’s stressors and begin to feel better. We can help you get there faster than you may think possible.

Simply call our office and set up a free 30 minute session to meet with a therapist. If it feels like a good fit, make an appointment, register in our client portal and fill out some forms. Then during your first session, you’ll meet with your therapist to review the paperwork, talk about your history, and set some goals. This session runs about 90 minutes. Subsequent sessions generally run 50 minutes.

We work with English speaking adults and adolescents over the age of 16. We support all spiritual traditions and self-identities. If you want to feel comfortable in your own skin and learn how to be the best version of yourself, then we can help!

It depends on why you’re seeking therapy, but for many people 12 sessions are enough to give some relief. You may want to go deeper or address new issues as they come up, and you can discuss this with your therapist as you go. We are interested in having you feel better soon than later.

Sometimes. It usually includes paying attention to something you’re already doing like breathing, standing or walking. Sometimes your therapist may ask you to write or doodle something, but homework won’t ever take you more than a few minutes. It is only offered to deepen the work and never busy work.

Each of our clinicians approaches therapy differently. We also use different methods depending on every client’s specific needs. Some of the methods we use at Sweetgrass ICT are:

Brain – Body Techniques:

Mindfulness – to increase your awareness of the thoughts, feelings, and actions that hinder your progress.

Brainspotting – advanced brain body technique for healing emotional trauma, anxiety, depression and PTSD. This method effectively addresses the root cause of psychological stress and trauma.

Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) – A form of music therapy that promotes a neural platform for health, growth and restoration.

Depth Therapy: Helps you gain a deeper sense of self-awareness.

This can lead to a better understanding of why you act the way you do in specific situations so that adjustments to address those behavior patterns are made from a place of knowledge.

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): Uses mindfulness, psychological flexibility, and value-based action to create powerful lasting change and resiliency.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT): Changes the way you think about life and how you respond to stress.

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT): Combining mindfulness practices with strong skills development to help individuals tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and deepen relationships. Ideal for those who struggle with interpersonal interactions. No DBT groups offered.

Solution Focused Therapy (SFT): A targeted and goal-oriented technique that produces quicker outcomes, helping you reach your goals sooner.

Sweetgrass is used in healing rituals around the world for purification and summoning positive energies. It’s traditionally dried and braided into three strands which represent the mind, body, and spirit. Individually, these blades of dried grass can bend and break. But when sweetgrass is woven together into a braid, it becomes resilient.

This makes sweetgrass the perfect symbol for our practice as we believe in healing by equally addressing your emotional, physical and psychological well-being to strengthen your resilience, confidence and self-awareness.
